Actually, I didn't felt having 17 noncrea spells to be a burden as I didn't face tons of removal (except vs UR Bitterblossom) and all the spells are pretty useful, also having 1 Boa/2 Strangleroot and 3 Vault skirge helps versus removal, and I definitely bring 2 more Boa against removal heavy list.
Ram through is very good as instant speed removal (helps a lot to have an instant speed) also as being a finisher/deal with fogs. Though for it to work that way only 4 rancors as trample outlet wasn't enough, and having garruk helped in that way, as well as ram through skyfisher who is rampant in the meta, still not sure about it, but was useful this tournament at least.
If I was going with less Ram Through though, I wouldn't play Garruk Companion and would play Safehold elite instead or Wild Mongrel if I expect prismatic strands a lot.
