After seeing something similar in Pauper (not able to find it on the web sadly), i tried to brew some Red-Artifact value deck. I welcome all advice & ideas :-). Here is the decklist : // 18 Lands 10 Snow-Covered Mountain 4 Great Furnace 4 Darksteel Citadel // 5 Creatures 4 Avarax 1 Flametongue Kavu // 15 Artifacts 4 Chromatic Star 4 Terrarion 4 Ichor Wellspring 3 Mycosynth Wellspring // 9 Sorceries 4 Crack the Earth 4 Kuldotha Rebirth 1 Faithless Looting // 13 Instants 4 Lightning Bolt 4 Galvanic Blast 4 Shrapnel Blast 1 Magma Jet // Sideboard 4 Relic of Progenitus 4 Pyroblast 2 Gorilla Shaman 1 Smash to Smithereens 2 Electrickery 1 Orcish Mechanics 1 Molten Rain Explanations : Avarax & FtK, because value & needed something at the top-end of the curve. Snow-Covered Mountains might lead the opponent to play around Skred. 15 sac-value artifacts, I think we need that amount, because we play 12 sac-outlet. And Star & Terrarion can sac themselves. Faithless Looting help get value out of extra lands (which might occur lategame given Mycosynth Wellspring and all the draw effects in the deck) |

Hi! This looks like a very fun deck, but do you see any advantage of playing this over a classic WR wellspring? It looks slower, and I don't feel like WR is that disavantaged by taplands or subject to color death. |

Wellspring is still a better fair deck, by a huge margin. Pros for this deck : Crack the Earth can steal games on it's own. The deck also has a surprising amount of reach with Shrapnel + Galvanic. |
