dumb question about league Dec 7, 2017, 10:26 PM
Strepsil67 question stupid: I saw that there was a ranking of the league over a calendar year. How do you get points? and especially how much depending on the results.
thank you

zeroxceet Dec 8, 2017, 8:16 AM You get points when your list is published for online tournament. The better you are and the more players there are thé more points you get. End december the 8 best will do masters tournament

Manudesbois Dec 8, 2017, 8:35 AM Hi Strepsil! I can't remember the exact formula, it was something not that simple imagined by our beloved zombie, but I can tell it's based on every single result in mtg-peasant cockatrice tournament (peasant format only and excluding "mtg-peasant masters". The number of points depends on two things: the number of players in the tournament and your final ranking. Only top players (those having their playlists published) get points.

Manudesbois Dec 8, 2017, 2:25 PM If you want to have fun building up the formula, see the last people in the rankings

1/8 => 9.90pts
3/13 => 11.09pts
3/14 => 11.76pts
1/15 => 14.46pts

I remember some squares or square roots in the expression, or maybe log()

zombie33 Dec 8, 2017, 2:59 PM It's both max and i who think about this formula a long time ago. In fact i really think this formula isn't the best choice in a league with so many 8 mens (who didn't exist yet when we create the formula)

The Formula is : ROUND(SUM( 4 *(1-(deck_rank/event_nb_player)) * ((event_nb_player)^(1/2))), 2)

The '4*' was added by max2070 because he didn't like little scores, so he decide to multiply everything by 4.

GalacticPresident Dec 8, 2017, 7:16 PM If we want to change it, now is the time to think about it! To have a better system for next year. I too think that 8men are awarded with too many points in comparison to pool tournaments.

First suggestion: (3*(1-(deck_rank/event_nb_player))*((event_nb_player)^(2/3))) for similar points but a little steeper curve to prioritize bigger events with more rounds where more consistency is needed.
Result:
1/8 => 10,5 points (9,9 before)
1/15 => 17,03 points (14,46)
1/20 => 21 points (17)

zeroxceet Dec 8, 2017, 11:31 PM Is it possible to have the 2017 score with your équation galactic ? To see if big difference

Manudesbois Dec 9, 2017, 1:10 AM No it's not it would be a bit long manually

Manudesbois Dec 9, 2017, 1:31 AM Well it could be done by searching and copy-pasting the list of mtg-peasant top decks in an excel sheet and applying the formula. Have fun

zeroxceet Dec 9, 2017, 8:00 AM This website calculates it, so if you change the équation for entire 2017 doesnt it work ? With of course à backup
